Around 800 First Stores to Open in Beijing During 2025
During the Labor Day holiday, several first stores emerged in Beijing, fueling a wave of shopping frenzy. Highlights included the debut of "Nuanshan", a new dining brand under Jin Ding Xuan at Chaoyang Joy City, and China's first MADverse (Mojing Digital Art Space). As one of Beijing's hubs for new stores, THE BOX Chaowai | Youth Center has introduced over 50 first stores and hosted nearly 100 opening events since its operation. Over the holiday, it ramped up the momentum of the first-store economy with pop-up markets.
From January to April this year, nearly 300 new first stores of various types opened across Beijing, spanning retail, dining, and service sectors. In 2025, Beijing will renovate and upgrade a total of 12 traditional commercial areas such as Zhongguancun, with new commercial spaces reaching one million square meters. These efforts will offer domestic and international brands larger spaces, with around 800 new first stores expected to open in the city this year. |
