Dozens of passengers were injured Monday after an Amtrak train collided with a tractor-trailer that was stuck on rail tracks in the U.S. state of North Carolina and derailed, according to local media reports.
The first two cars of the New York-bound train derailed around Monday noon after it collided with a truck. A witness said that the truck driver was lingering on the tracks before the accident happened. She recalled the driver was trying to make a difficult right-hand turn, said the reports.
None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, said the reports, quoting local authorities.
